Turn a WhatsApp or Telegram voice message into text: drop the OGG or OPUS file and Whisper writes out what was said in any of 99 languages, on your device.

The speech model downloads once to your device; your recording never leaves it. Nothing starts until you choose a file.

How it works

  1. Save the voice message as a file: WhatsApp and Telegram voice messages are OGG or OPUS files you can share or save from the chat.
  2. Drop the file here. Whisper by OpenAI downloads once to your device and recognises the speech; the language is detected automatically.
  3. Fix any word if needed, then press “Copy text” or “Download TXT”.

Questions

Is the voice message uploaded?

No. The speech model runs in this tab, so a private message stays on your device.

Which languages work?

All 99 languages Whisper knows. If detection guesses wrong, choose the spoken language yourself.

Does it work for long recordings?

Yes. Long recordings are cut at pauses into parts of up to 30 seconds and the text appears part by part.
