Rename invoice PDFs in bulk

Drop a pile of invoice PDFs and get them renamed to YYYYMMDD_amount_counterparty.pdf, the search keys Japan’s Electronic Bookkeeping Act (電子帳簿保存法) asks for. Handles 令和 dates, ¥ and 円, and 株式会社 names.

How it works

The text of the first pages is read with pdf.js. Nibbo picks the issue date (not the due date), the grand total (not the subtotal or tax) and the issuing company.
Japanese eras are converted (令和6年 → 2024), full-width digits are normalized, and (株) becomes 株式会社. Names marked 御中 or 様 are recognised as the addressee and skipped.
You review and edit every field in a table before downloading the renamed files as a ZIP. The PDFs themselves are not changed.

Questions

What about scanned invoices?

Scans have no text layer, so the fields stay empty and you type them in. The file still gets renamed.

Why does it pick my own company?

Enter your company names in the box above the table. They are remembered on this device and skipped.

Are the files uploaded?

No. Reading and zipping happen in your browser.
