Output

How it works

  1. The photo is cropped from the centre to the required shape (197×276 px). Use the photo maker to place the crop yourself.
  2. It is compressed to the highest quality that fits under 50 KB. If the portal sets a minimum, a tiny file is padded with an invisible comment so it passes.
  3. EXIF data such as GPS location is removed by default.

Questions

Where do these numbers come from?

https://cms.proteantech.in/articles/pan-card-documents-scanning-uploading-method (JPEG, 200 dpi, max 50 KB, 2.5×3.5 cm)

What background is needed?

White background, colour photo. Nibbo does not change the background; take the photo against a plain wall or white paper.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is decoded, resized and compressed by your browser on this device. The page has no server that could receive it.

Why is the result a little under the limit?

Portals disagree on whether 1 KB is 1000 or 1024 bytes. We count the upper limit as 1000 bytes per KB and the lower limit as 1024, so the file passes either way.
