Resize photo for SSC (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD)
Make your photo match the SSC (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD) upload rules: 275×354 px, 20–50 KB, JPG. Runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
Some SSC exams now capture the photo live in the application; the 20–50 KB file rule applies to uploads.
Source: SSC notices (CGL 2025): JPEG, 20–50 KB, 3.5×4.5 cm. Pixel size derived at 200 dpi.
The photo is cropped from the centre. To place the crop yourself, open it in the photo maker.
How it works
- The photo is cropped from the centre to the required shape (275×354 px). Use the photo maker to place the crop yourself.
- It is compressed to the highest quality that fits 20–50 KB. If the portal sets a minimum, a tiny file is padded with an invisible comment so it passes.
- EXIF data such as GPS location is removed by default.
Questions
Where do these numbers come from?
SSC notices (CGL 2025): JPEG, 20–50 KB, 3.5×4.5 cm. Pixel size derived at 200 dpi. We could not confirm this on an official page, so check your notification before uploading.
What background is needed?
Plain light background, no cap or glasses. Nibbo does not change the background; take the photo against a plain wall or white paper.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is decoded, resized and compressed by your browser on this device. The page has no server that could receive it.
Why is the result a little under the limit?
Portals disagree on whether 1 KB is 1000 or 1024 bytes. We count the upper limit as 1000 bytes per KB and the lower limit as 1024, so the file passes either way.
