Generate an SRT file from a video: Whisper recognises the speech with timings, you fix any line, then download SRT or VTT. Runs in your browser, no upload.
The speech model downloads once to your device; your recording never leaves it. Nothing starts until you choose a file.
How it works
- Drop the video: MP4, MOV, WebM or an audio file.
- Whisper by OpenAI recognises the speech on your device and writes it as timed lines. Pick “Fast” or “Accurate”; the language is detected automatically.
- Fix any word or time in place, then press “Download SRT”.
Questions
Can I translate the subtitles to English?
Yes. Turn on “Translate to English” and speech in any of Whisper’s 99 languages comes out as English subtitles.
Can I put the subtitles on the video?
Yes. “Burn into the video” opens the subtitle burner with your lines and the video already loaded.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The model downloads once and runs in this tab; your video never leaves your device.
